Ventilated Long-Term Care

Baraya offers specialized care for individuals in need of mechanical ventilation support through the Ventilated Long-Term Care program. Additionally, our Transitional Ventilation Unit is designed to help free patients from ventilator dependency, often required following conditions such as cardiac arrest, cardiovascular and pulmonary issues, neurological deficits, GBS, TBI, and CVA.

To qualify for admission to Baraya Extended Care, patients must meet specific criteria that ensures their medical stability, potential for weaning from mechanical ventilation, and suitability for a transitional care program.

At Baraya, we understand that long-term ventilator dependency can be a complex and challenging journey. Our Ventilated Long-Term Care Program is committed to providing compassionate and expert care to optimize the well-being and quality of life for these individuals.

Post-Acute Rehabilitation

The Post-Acute Rehabilitation program at Baraya is meticulously designed for patients in the process of recovery from stable acute illnesses or injuries. The primary objective is to restore diminished skills, foster self-sufficiency, mitigate the impact of impairments, and re-establish a level of functioning that is either normal or near normal.

Within our Post-Acute Rehabilitation Program, there exist two distinct tracks:

The Neuro-Rehabilitation Program

The Neuro-Rehabilitation Program at Baraya focuses on catering to patients following a stroke or CVA, patients recovering from traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and patients with neurological disorders like multiple sclerosis, motor neuron disease, and neurodegenerative diseases.

The Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation Program specializes in the care of patients both before and after joint replacement surgeries, including procedures for the knee, hip, and ankle.

This program also extends its services to individuals who have undergone shoulder surgeries like rotator cuff repair, as well as those recovering from traumatic fractures that required surgical fixation.

The program also caters to patients who have undergone various spinal procedures, including scoliosis and spondylolisthesis repair, fracture fixation, and discectomy. It also provides care for those who have undergone arthroscopic procedures, geriatric management for traumatic fractures, and limb reconstruction.

This program is managed by a dedicated interdisciplinary team that includes a physical medicine and rehabilitation consultant, specialized nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, psychologists, dietitians, and a case manager. This holistic approach ensures that every facet in the patient’s recovery journey is comprehensively addressed and optimized.

Pediatric Rehabilitation

The Pediatric Rehabilitation Program at Baraya is dedicated to empowering children, offering specialized care for various medical conditions.

These conditions include congenital abnormalities, neurological deficits, post-infection rehabilitation, sports injuries, and speech and language conditions.

Our approach to Pediatric Rehabilitation transcends the mere rebuilding of strength and function; it aspires to inspire and support children and their families in their journey towards realizing their full potential.

At Baraya, we extend expert rehabilitative care to children across all age groups, with a minimum weight of four kilograms. The program addresses complex medical and rehabilitative requirements arising from conditions such as brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, orthopedic trauma, neurological disorders, cerebral palsy, sensory integration disorders, motor development disorders, feeding and nutrition disorders, orthopedic injuries, spasticity, and developmental delay.

Our Pediatric Rehabilitation services at Baraya are intricately designed to empower children to reach their highest levels of ability and independence.

Long-Term Acute Care

The Long-Term Acute Care Program at Baraya is designed for patients with long-term conditions or disabilities that require personalized care.
